Gimpo International Airport (IATA: GMP; ICAO: RKSS), previously known as Kimpo International Airport, is one of the two international airports serving Gangseo district, located 15 km (9 miles) west of downtown Seoul, South Korea.
It is the third busiest airport in South Korea after Incheon International Airport and Jeju International Airport. Gimpo Airport is a hub for Asiana Airlines, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air, Jin Air, T’way Air and Korean Air. Gimpo International Airport used to be the main airport in Seoul after being replaced by Incheon International Airport in 2001.
Nowadays, it is Seoul’s secondary airport.
Gimpo International Airport handled 25,448,416 passengers in 2019.
During 2020, Gimpo Airport registered a total of 17,446,239 passengers. An important decrease due to coronavirus crisis.
